  • Clap You Hands Say Yeah side project Radical Dads have a song to give away from their website but don’t expect any lectures.
  • One of only 2 German blogs (here’s the other) we read (no strictly true since we’re languagephobes) Coast Is Clear has a admirably defined taste. Today there are too tracks from the Hives/OMD (!) Paper.
  • There ain’t much better than enjoying a brew to the sounds of a boy/girl pop group, or so said my sadder older sister. I’d imagine the kettle would have run dry with this one from Cotton Jones, I’d probably join her. Posted by the terminally cool Aquarium Drunkard.
  • Despite for all the world sounding like a Eurovision song (see photo above for confirmation) Stytzer has seen to post the number 1 in Denmark from Forest & Crispian. Totally forgiveable because in an unguarded moment we spotted one of own toes tapping. Another +1 for the cutie piano player.
  • Oh no! Matthew is being ambivalent again, that said we agree with him except for Shilpa Ray ’cause she’s great.
  • Brian Sendrowitz’s Beat Radio like nothing more than to give tons of free tracks away and the best thing is the tunes are top notch. Try ‘Treetops’ and ‘Strange Flowers’ for starters, proper songs from a proper band.
  • Countrified Irish band the Harvest Ministers have bubbled under for many a long year but that hasn’t dented Will Merrimen’s passion and aren’t we the lucky ones. There are about half a dozen tracks to download from the band’s site (scroll down), the best of which we think is ‘That Won’t Wash’.
  • Sometimes we scratch our heads at all the attention that White Lies get (and then she proceeds to focus on the self same band) but how could you resist the little scamps when they hand over the ‘Is Love’ files to Stereolab for a hammond fused retailoring? Nope, nor could we. You can download the Gallic/Scottish play acting below. No mention of White Lies on here for at least 24 hours…….
  • Indie Rock Cafe does periodic blockbuster posts with mp3 player filling downloads which are pretty much always on the money. The latest missive does a retrospective on the year just passed and includes songs from among others Deerhunter, Arcade Fire, Wild Nothing and Two Door Cinema Club.
